RECORD-SETTING “PARTY UNDER THE STARS” BENEFITS FLORIDA CANCER SPECIALISTS FOUNDATION

Lakewood Ranch, FL – February 8th, 2018… The Florida Cancer Specialists (FCS) Foundation is proud to announce the fifth annual Party Under the Stars event, which was held on January 27th, 2018 at the Fete Catering & Ballroom, set an event record, raising more than $200,000, with all proceeds going to the Foundation. This year, the popular fundraiser honored FCS Foundation Board Chair Brad Prechtl, MBA, who also serves as FCS CEO, and his wife Terri Prechtl, who is the FCS Foundation Lead Patient Support Volunteer at the Lakewood Ranch location of Florida Cancer Specialists. Three FCS physicians, Drs. Richard Brown, Anjan Patel and Miguel Pelayo, served as honorary chairs of the event along with co-chairs, Celgene representative Kim Wyar and Genentech representative Dwight Henry.
The “New York City Rooftop” themed evening “under the stars” featured music, dancing, dining and a silent auction with several highly coveted prizes. Money raised is earmarked for patient grants, which provide financial assistance for non-medical living expenses to qualified cancer patients who are currently undergoing treatment in Florida. The FCS Foundation’s overhead is paid by the physician partners at Florida Cancer Specialists, so 100% of donations (net event expenses) will benefit cancer patients in need.
Foundation Board Chair and CEO of Florida Cancer Specialists, Bradley Prechtl, MBA, stated, “My wife Terri and I were humbled and deeply moved to be honored by friends, family, and colleagues for our work with the FCS Foundation and we are more committed than ever to continuing the mission and giving our time, talents, and resources! We hope that the Brad & Terri Prechtl Fund will continue to raise monies for the FCS Foundation.”
Foundation Executive Director Lynn Rasys said, “The FCS Foundation would not have been able to surpass our goals without the continued support of our local community and sponsors. We are very appreciative and we look forward to another successful Party Under the Stars in 2019.”
