FLORIDA CANCER SPECIALISTS FOUNDATION HONORS BRAD & TERRI PRECHTL AT PARTY UNDER THE STARS

Lakewood Ranch, FL – January 8th, 2018…  At the fifth annual Party Under the Stars fundraising event, the Florida Cancer Specialists (FCS) Foundation will honor Foundation Board Chair Brad Prechtl, who also serves as FCS CEO, and his wife Terri Prechtl, who is the FCS Foundation Lead Patient Support Volunteer at the Lakewood Ranch location of Florida Cancer Specialists, for their dedication and service to the FCS Foundation. Brad and Terri Prechtl have donated their time and efforts to raise funds for cancer patients in need for the past six years. In addition, two FCS physicians, Drs. Anjan Patel and Miguel Pelayo, were named Honorary Chairs. The event will be held on January 27^th, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Fete Catering & Ballroom, located at 10670 Boardwalk Loop, Lakewood Ranch, FL 34202.

This festive evening “under the stars” will feature music, dancing, dining and a silent auction with several highly coveted prizes. All proceeds will benefit the FCS Foundation, which provides financial assistance for non-medical living expenses to qualified cancer patients who are currently undergoing treatment in Florida. The FCS Foundation’s overhead is paid by the physician partners at Florida Cancer Specialists, so that 100% of donations (net of event expenses) can benefit cancer patients in need.

Foundation Board Chair and CEO of Florida Cancer Specialists, Brad Prechtl stated, “My wife Terri and I feel privileged to be named Honorees forParty Under the Stars. This is a cause about which we are both very passionate. In 2017, the FCS Foundation assisted more than 840 cancer patients in need. We hope to increase that number next year through our local fundraising events.”

Dr. Anjan Patel, Honorary Chair, added, “I am delighted to be named an Honorary Chair of this unique event in Lakewood Ranch, which will directly benefit cancer patients and their families. Another wonderful aspect of the FCS Foundation is that about 40% of the cancer patients it serves are not FCS patients.  Any patient in Florida who is undergoing active treatment and meets the financial guidelines is eligible for assistance.”

When asked about his role as Honorary Chair, Dr. Miguel Pelayo said, “Party Under the Stars could not be a success without the continued support of our local community and sponsors. I am looking forward to another successful event this year and helping to make it just a bit easier for cancer patients in need.”

Foundation Executive Director Lynn Rasys said, “Party Under the Stars brings people together from the community, local businesses and the medical field to support the Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation.  It is one of my favorite events because I always feel that I’m attending a rooftop party in Manhattan; it’s definitely a night to remember!”
