Latinos y el cancer

Moffitt Cancer Center will host its biennial educational symposium Latinos y el cancer ® from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 8, 2016. The free event, which will be hosted in Spanish, will take place at the Vincent A. Stabile Research Building, 12902 Magnolia Drive, Tampa, Florida.

According to the American Cancer Society, cancer is the leading cause of death amongst Hispanics in the United States. This educational symposium was designed to provide cancer education and resources to the Hispanic community. Moffitt physicians will offer interactive sessions about cancer prevention, early detection, mental health, and nutrition. The participants will have the opportunity to register with the National Bone Marrow Donor Registry to become potential donors. Also, free skin cancer screenings will be provided.
