Purpose
Description of Initiative: The clinical navigator is a role that has been identified by payers, physicians, institutions and practices as a critical extension of the clinical team. Despite the understood variation in responsibilities, there is a need to partner with these clinicians to understand their needs and provide education, resources and access to on- going support that will maximize their positive impact on patient outcomes, care and other pre -defined objectives.
Background: In early 2017, a survey was developed and implemented that captured a tangible need that could be met through the Amgen/FLASCO partnership. FLASCO has developed a team of nurse navigators that will work closely with Amgen to develop strategies to fill the gaps that were discovered through the survey.
Rationale: Amgen is willing to design and fund education, tools and resources for Navigators who play a key role in delivering quality care to oncology patients.
Purpose: To maximize a partnership between FLASCO and industry to provide non-branded patient education and resources to oncology nurse navigators and other interested oncology nurses throughout the State of Florida.

Directions
Florida Hospital Cancer Institute (2501 N. Orange Ave., Orlando, FL 32804) is located off of I4 in Orlando, Florida. From I4 take the Princeton exit and drive towards Orange Avenue, turn left onto Orange Ave. Turn right onto Winter Park street, which will be the parking lot for the Medical Plaza/Cancer Institute, you’ll use the parking lot that is to your left (by the Eden Spa). Once parked, head to the front doors of the Cancer Institute and go to conference room 182 located on the first floor.
