About the Course
The goal of this course is to provide practicing physicians, residents, fellows, and nurses in medical oncology, otolaryngology, radiation oncology, and head and neck surgery with a contemporary update of management strategies of head and neck cancer using a multidisciplinary approach. Lecture and panels will provide a forum for discussion of updated therapies and new treatment innovations.
Objectives
As a result of attending this conference, the participant should be able to:
- Highlight the importance and necessity of the multidisciplinary approach in treatment of head and neck cancer.
- Update his/her knowledge regarding modern surgical techniques including transoral robotic surgery approach.
- Discuss state-of-the-art IMRT, IGRT, and adaptive radiation therapy planning.
- Identify appropriate patient selection for chemoradiation in definitive and adjuvant settings.
- Discuss the predictive and prognostic information of detecting HPV-associated cancer.
- Manage appropriate referral decisions.
