New Offices in Daytona and Ormond Beach

Fort Myers, FL – December 4, 2014 . . . . Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute (FCS), the leading community oncology/hematology practice in Florida, is pleased to announce that Dr. Karin Bigman, Dr. Eric Harris and Dr. Mudussara Khan have joined the statewide practice. Drs. Bigman, Khan and Harris will be seeing patients in two new office locations in Daytona and Ormond Beach.Brad Prechtl, CEO of FCS, said, “We are delighted to welcome these outstanding physicians into our practice. Drs. Dr. Karin Bigman began her practice at the Comprehensive Cancer Center at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center in 1995. She has a keen interest in clinical trial research and has been a Principal Investigator and Sub-Investigator in multiple oncology/hematology research trials. She is a graduate of Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York, NY, where she also completed her residency. Dr. Bigman earned a Fellowship in Oncology/Hematology at New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY. Throughout her career, Dr. Bigman has provided instruction to medical students and residents from Yale Medical School and other institutions. She is board certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology and Hematology.

Dr. Eric Harris received diverse preparation in his early medical training, having worked as a laboratory technician, research technician and medical technologist at Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY. He served as Chief Fellow, Hematology/Oncology at the University of Florida, Department of Medicine and was twice awarded the Gold Key Customer Service Award by Shands Hospital (2009 and 2014), as well as the Teaching Excellence Award by the University of Florida in 2010. Dr. Harris has been published in such prestigious journals as Oncology and has presented abstracts and published for several annual scientific meetings, including the Florida chapter of the American College of Physicians and the American Society of Hematology.

Dr. Mudussara Khan is board certified in Hematology, Medical Oncology and Internal Medicine. During her Residency and Fellowship at West Virginia University School of Medicine, Dr. Khan was recognized with several honors, including being named Chief Resident, as well as Chief Fellow, for the Department of Internal Medicine. Dr. Khan has held multiple teaching positions and is the author of numerous articles and publications. She has also given a variety of presentations to conferences, forums and association meetings, specializing in such areas as breast cancer, coagulation disorders, DNA synthesis, multiple sclerosis and spinal cord injuries. Prior to joining the Comprehensive Cancer Center at Florida Hospitals, Dr. Khan also served as Clinical Assistant Professor at West Virginia University School of Medicine.
